Ring-necked Duck

A drake Ring-necked Duck on Meikle Loch is todays highlight. The first, and of non-hybrid stock for once, in quite some years. Favouring the far side of Meikle this morning and evening, and sticking around with Tufted Ducks. The first notable numbers of waders on the loch this year  as well with at least 15 Redshank making use of the newly exposed edge. Bodes well for the weeks to come. A few more Northern Wheatears to be seen around now as well.

  1. Nice one CB. Hope he sticks around so I can get him on my patch list!
