Some cold weather has finally settled in , though little of note today despite this in the Collieston area. A drake Goosander was on Meikle today as well as a single Gadwall. 30 plus Skylark were in fields just south of Mains of Slains. The sea was quiet today, though on Friday there had been a good movement of Fulmar and Kittiwake in the gale force winds. There continues to be good numbers of smaller gulls especially in the fields around Slains and Meikle with them often numbering in the few hundreds. There is a flock of about a dozen Fieldfare frequenting the Cotehill area.
No sign this weekend of the adult Iceland Gull that has been noted on and off at Cransdale over the last few weeks, nor the Mediterranean Gull that put in an appearance recently.
